Welcome to Meadway and Rivermead Squash Club

We are a relatively small club with a post-covid membership of around 50 players of all standards, from complete beginners through to county interclub standard; whatever your level, we have players of a similar ability within our leagues.  We have been running two teams in the Berkshire interclub leagues since they resumed in the autumn of 2021, with team players usually coming from the top three or four leagues.

The club uses courts across both the Meadway and Rivermead leisure centres, as well as Bradfield college sports complex. Court bookings are made directly with the venues with costs split between the players.

We are affiliated to England Squash, and your membership of England Squash is taken from your club membership fee. This includes a range of benefits including insurance whilst playing.

The internal club leagues are organised into approximately 8-10 leagues with ~5 players in each. Each league session lasts for a month. You are expected to play each of the other people in your league during the period. The resulting scores are entered onto the website. At the end of the month the top 2 players get promoted and the bottom 2 are relegated, subject to new members joining and existing players leaving. Leagues, phone numbers, etc are sent via email, with the leagues available on the website where you can also obtain contact details once logged in. League games are played as best of 5, point per rally, first to 15 points (2 clear if tied at 14-14). When entering your league scores, you have the option to enter the game scores as well as the result, which will enable better confidence in the rankings.

We try to run at least one internal club competition a year with a couple of social events - which unfortunately were cancelled due to the pandemic.

We are looking to host club nights at the Bradfield College courts - so look out for further information.

The membership cost is £40 per annum, with renewals in July each year. Payment can be made by bank transfer or by cheque. If you wish to join please contact us with a rough idea of your playing standard, or if possible we’ll try to put you in touch with somebody to have a friendly game with to gauge where you would fit in the leagues.
